Maggie Grant, Head of School for Early Years and Healthcare at the Southern Regional College, commended the group on their achievement. She stated: ‘The achievement of NVQ in Health & Social Care is very significant at a time when the Northern Ireland Social Care Council are calling for registration of all care workers’. This qualification means staff in possession of an NVQ in Health & Social Care will be qualified to register as approved Health and Social Care Workers in Northern Ireland.’ Mairead Mackle, Company Director spoke about the direction in which Homecare is moving and highlighted the introduction of a new organizational structure together with the implementation of a management information system which ultimately will focus on the continual improvement in the provision of care services. 17 Care assistants were presented with certificates for achievement in NVQ level 2 in Health and Social care and 3 employees were presented with certificates for achievement in Level 3.
