Approximately 20% Homecare's current workforce is made up of overseas staff. Our overseas staff come from China, Lithunania, Poland, Hungary and Romania. We have developed a Cultural Diversity Training Programme for all overseas recruits to support and enable them to settle into the UK culture. As part of the introduction to the Company, we provide English lessons, driving lessons, cooking lessons, assistance with setting up bank accounts and national insurance numbers as well as sourcing accommodation.
REQUIREMENTS When submitting applications we would ask for a full clean international driving licence and Pre-Employment Consultancy Service checked from your own country, excellent availability and flexibility with regards to working hours. It is also important that applicants have a caring background. Non EU applicants should apply for a working holiday visa from their country of origin. This qualifies the candidate to work up to 20 hours per week for a period of 2 years. During this time, if a commitment to the Company is evident then a work permit application may be processed by Homecare.
WE OFFER An excellent support network is in place for our overseas staff. Accommodation, transport and any other requirements are sourced. We at Homecare do all in our power to ensure a smooth transition into the workplace as well as our country's culture.
