At Homecare we are passionate about the quality of the services we provide, and this commitment is evident in our recent appointment of a dedicated Quality & SupportManager.
A key aspect of the Quality Management role is to ensure continued compliance with RQIA standards. The Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority is the independent health and social care regulatory body for Northern Ireland, and as such forms an integral part of the new health and social care structures. In its work RQIA encourages continuous improvement in the quality of domiciliary care services through a programme of inspections and reviews. Homecare welcomes the registration of domiciliary care agencies and views the inspection process as an opportunity to demonstrate and evidence the quality of the services we provide. We have successfully submitted an application for registration and are eagerlyawaiting our registration certificate.
As always, our primary goal is to exceed the standards of our regulatory bodies. In order to ensure that we achieve this goal, we have set up a Quality Focus Group. This group is currently working towards its first objective; the development of a Quality Assessment and Assurance Framework that isunique to Homecare.
In addition to the work of the Quality Focus Group, Mairead Mackle (Director) and Lynne McMordie (Quality Manager) are currently assessing the relevance of a range of internationally recognised quality standards. To complete this assessment process, a number of site visits to organisations recognised as leaders in quality management have been arranged. We will keep you posted on our progress.
