Homecare had reason to celebrate recently the success of 6 of our Managers and our Director Mairead Mackle who completed the NVQ Registered Manager’s Level 4 course run by the Southern Regional College.
2007 was the 1st year Homecare had undertaken the Registered Manager Level 4 programme and we are delighted that 6 of our Managers and our Director, Mairead Mackle have successfully completed this programme. This management qualification has been specifically designed or those who hold managerial responsibilities in health and social care and includes the broad range of management skills but is clearly based in the context of care services for adults. The programme comprises of 10 units – 4 core and 6 optional. The programme has been successfully completed on a part time basis over a 2 year period. We take this opportunity to congratulate the following:
Director - Mairead Mackle, Locality Managers - Niki Molloy and Nuala O Hare, Coordinators Aine Kelly and Catherine McGrath, Quality & Support Manager - Lynne Mc Mordie, and Operations Manager for Support Services - Donagh Hannon. The programme could not have been completed without the guidance and support of Sandra Carroll, the course tutor from the Southern Regional College. The course itself has had a really positive effect on those who have completed the programme and this is reflected in their daily approach in each of their job roles. As a business we must ensure that our staff are equippedwith the skills to perform the ever demanding role that is required of them and it would appear that NVQ is the most practical route to follow as it is based on National Occupational standards, it is work-related, competence-based and reflects the skills and knowledge needed to do the job.
